How to Help

Through volunteer programs, membership fees, special events, donations and sales of gift items, the Friends help the Park Manager complete improvement projects that are not funded by the State.

Projects and Programs

FOSP supports the Park in the following areas by funding specific projects and programs.

Environmental Education

  • Improve storage and accessibility in the Volunteer Room
  • Acquire modern visual aids equipment
  • Fund the purchase of needed educational items

Preservation of Historic Sites

  • Fund plants and plant identification tags for landscaping
  • Acquire Kannally family paintings and photographs
  • Purchase draperies for the Great Room
  • Obtain 1920-1940 era novels and reference books for Great Room bookcases
  • Obtain period furnishings

Enhance Outdoor Recreation

  • Support trail work with equipment as needed
  • Fund trail signs and guided tour maps

Preservation/Restoration of Wildlife and Grasslands

  • Maintain viewing blind and watering troughs
  • Support horse patrol of fence line to exclude cattle

Membership

As a completely volunteer, nonprofit organization, we rely on our members to help make our efforts a success.

Come and make new friends and help the Park, too! Our members receive a monthly newsletter, attend events such as our Concert Series, and are encouraged to check out the many volunteer activities that are available.

Yearly membership levels are:

  • Individual - $15 - Monthly newsletter
  • Couple - $25 - Montly newsletter
  • Quail - $100 - Monthly newsletter PLUS 1-day Park Visitor's Pass (up to 4 people); Quarterly Oracle State Park News & Coming Events Bulletin; a Calabazas Festival t-shirt.
  • Roadrunner - $250 - Monthly newsletter PLUS Annual Park Visitor's Pass (up to 4 people); Quarterly Oracle State Park News & Coming Events Bulletin; a Calabazas Festival t-shirt; 2 tickets to the Moonlight Concert.
  • Bobcat - $500 - Monthly newsletter PLUS Annual Park Visitor's Pass (up to 4 people) & 2 1-day Park Visitor's Passes; Quarterly Oracle State Park News & Coming Events Bulletin; 2 Calabazas Festival t-shirts; 2 tickets to the Moonlight Concert; 2 tickets to the Spring Concert Series; a Commemorative Patio Brick.

Remember, the Friends of Oracle State Park, Inc. is a 501(c)3 organization. Your membership may be tax deductible as a charitable contribution.

About FOSP

Friends of Oracle State Park, Inc. (FOSP) is a non-profit corporation established in 1997 to assist in the restoration and preservation of the Kannally Ranch House and grounds at Oracle State Park in Oracle, Arizona.

VISION: Help make Oracle State Park a prestigious Environmental Education center and effective Wildlife Refuge in the oak/grasslands of Southern Arizona.

MISSION: Create a strong support organization to raise funds and finance projects and programs which enhance Park goals.

Monthly FOSP meetings

Our monthly meetings are open to all members and prospective members and you are encouraged to attend. Meetings are usually held at 7:00pm on the second Tuesday of the month. Please check the Calendar for the meeting location.
