Oracle State Park is located in the northern Catalina highlands, a mere 45-minute drive north of Tucson, along designated scenic corridor route 77, or 2 hours from Phoenix, via peaceful route 79. The Park offers:

• 15 miles of hiking trails, equestrien paths and bicycle routes
• An extraordinary array of plant and animal life
• Scenic views of the Galiuro and other mountain ranges
• Tours of the historic Ranch House—a 1930s architectural gem
• Fun-filled education activities for all ages and interests

Public Hours & Fees

Starting in February, the Park will be open to the public on Saturdays (hours to be announced). The Park entry fee is $7 per vehicle or free with an Annual Pass. No reservation is needed to walk the trails or take scheduled tours. Some education programs may require reservations or extra fees. Please visit the Oracle State Park calendar page to learn more.

What to Bring & What to Wear...

While the Oracle climate is moderate, fall through spring temperatures can drop to freezing in the late afternoons and evenings. And while temperatures are 6 to 12 degrees cooler than in town, the desert sun is strong, even in winter. Trails too are unpaved and oftentimes demanding.

Therefore, visitors are strongly recommended to wear hats, sunscreen, good hiking shoes and carry water. During non-summer months, extra layers and jackets are necessary for later in the day.

Where to Eat etc. ...

The Park does not sell food or snacks. Visitors are welcome to bring food into the Park but must adhere to the Park’s “carry-in carry-out” policy regarding trash. Picnic tables are provided but no grilling is permitted. Visit the Oracle Community Guide for a list of nearby eateries, food stores and green markets, as well as B&Bs and shops.
